Biography

Jackie assists her clients (both corporate, trusts and high net worth individuals) in all aspects of tax advice, tax planning and dispute resolution matters. She advises corporations (multi-national, listed and private) on all tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions (both local and cross border, due diligence, structuring and implementation), inbound and outbound investment, with a focus on expansion into Africa. 

Jackie has extensive tax dispute resolution experience, having acted for both the taxpayer and the SA Revenue Service in tax disputes involving material amounts of tax and complex technical issues, including general anti avoidance and substance over form. She has also supported international clients with tax disputes in Africa. Jackie acts for several global groups in multijurisdictional African tax instructions with respect to such clients’ investments in Africa.

She also advises her clients on all aspects of South African Exchange Control regarding both the inflow and outflow of funds to/from South Africa.

Jackie joined Fluxmans in October 2023. Prior to joining Fluxmans, Jackie was Head of Tax at a well-established Johannesburg corporate law firm and prior to that was also a tax partner at a major international law firm.

Before re-entering the legal profession, Jackie was an international tax partner at one of the ‘big four’ accounting firms. She played a part in developing and for some years headed up the Africa Tax practice of her firm during her time in the accounting profession.
